Kanangra is a colonial bungalow (circa 1920s) on 50 acres nestled in a hidden sun-bathed valley between towering sandstone escarpments, this former dairy farm offers old world charm and ancient natural beauty of mother nature. About one kilometre of Brogers Creek tumbles through moss-covered boulders and small cascades with waterfalls and deep swimming holes to form Kanangra’s western boundary. About 25 acres of pristine rainforest (including walking trails) are home to a vast range of trees including towering red cedars; three metre high tree ferns and Lilli Pillies. Wild orchids and birds nest ferns abound. Kanangra is also home to wombats, quolls and wallabies. Lyrebirds, black cockatoos, mopokes and whip birds compliment the many parrots, wood ducks, kookaburras and honey eaters, a nature lover’s delight.
Eagles Rest is the perfect escape for a weekend. Just 90 minutes south of Sydney is the beautiful township of Berry. Known for its arts, craft and food - Berry is nestled just inland from the magnificent Seven Mile Beach and the mountains to the west. It is upon Woodhill Mountain - some 350m above sea level - that you will find Eagles Rest.
Less than 10 minutes up the mountain road and you might as well be a million miles away from everything. As you enter the property through the gates the house is still a small journey yet (well not that far, a few hundred metres), allowing for the last few stresses of modern living to fall away.
Woodhill is a beautiful rural area in the mountains between historic Berry and Kangaroo Valley. If you enjoy driving through winding country roads you should take the scenic route from Berry up Woodhill Mountain Road.
Local speciality shopping and arts and crafts are available in nearby Berry.
If you prefer a walk you will be delighted with the spectacular views and geological phenomena found at the summit of the Drawing Room Rocks walk. This two hour, four kilometre (return) walk rewards you with a fine panoramic view over Seven Mile Beach National Park, Gerroa, Berry, Kangaroo Valley, Nowra and the Shoalhaven River....
